The New England Patriots equaled their longest winning run from the Brady period as they overcame division opponents the New York Jets 27-14 in professional football

Rookie TreVeyon Henderson led the way with three TDs as the Patriots secured an eighth consecutive victory for the initial occasion since iconic QB Tom Brady's final season with the team in 2019

Quarterback Drake Maye threw for 281 yards and a score, connecting on 25 passes from 34 throws

The win increases the Patriots advantage at the top of the division as they improved to nine wins and two defeats, with the New York bottom after falling to a 2-8 mark

The opposing team had taken the lead at Gillette Stadium with QB Fields rushing for a five-yard touchdown to cap the New York's opening drive

But the home team responded in the second period as Henderson rushed for two short rushing scores before the running back grabbed a reception from Drake Maye at the rear of the end zone halfway into the third quarter to make it 21 to 7

"It was a crucial moment for him stepping up, and it's been excellent for him to keep gaining experience," the quarterback said of the rookie. "He wants to be outstanding."

Justin Fields threw to Metchie late in the third quarter to close the gap for the visitors but Andy Borregales kicked a two field goals in the fourth quarter as the Patriots wrapped up the triumph
