Local Law Enforcement
Approximately fifty automobiles have been smeared with what appears to be blood from a person in the German town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.
Automobiles, exterior walls and mailboxes were marked, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they reported in a statement.
Law enforcement state they were contacted during the night on Wednesday, when a individual noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued fluid.
The liquid had been drawn in the form of a banned symbol, they reported.
Law enforcement then found many other marked cars and house walls in the surrounding area.
Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws prohibiting the public display of Nazi-era symbols.
Law enforcement report preliminary tests suggest the liquid was likely human blood.
"There is still no indication as to its source; officials are not yet aware of any physical harm in relation with the occurrence," they commented.
City officials stated they were working "to solve the mystery" and have requested to the residents for information.
A high-ranking representative commented the vandalism rendered him speechless and had to be resolved promptly.
"This incident affects the core of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the far-right violent incident half a decade ago," he stated on a platform, recalling the murder of nine individuals by a assailant targeting people of immigrant origin in five years prior.
